NEA deploys engineers for re-survey of quake-victims in districts

According to the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), the engineers to be deputed in the districts were imparted three-day training in Kathmandu in three groups.

Two of the groups were already mobilized in earthquake-ravaged districts and the third batch has been deployed to Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Sindhuli to carry out re-survey the quake victims.

They will also reassess around 128,000 complaints of the quake-survivors to the NEA that they were not listed in the beneficiary list for relief grant.

According to NEA Spokesperson Yamlal Bhusal, the Authority has received a total of 207,861 complaints. Of them 39,097 households have been in the beneficiary list and 13,565 in retrofitting list.

NEA has deputed 27 engineers in Dolakha district, 28 in Gorkha, 16 in Nuwakot, 24 in Ramechhap, 4 in Rasuwa, 29 in Dhading and 12 in Sindhupalchowk.

Similarly, 41 engineers have been deployed in Kavrepalanchowk, 16 in Okhaldhunga, 60 in Sindhuli, 48 in Makawanpur, 11 in Kathmandu, 8 in Lalitpur and 7 in Bhaktapur, according to the government body formed to carry out post-quake reconstruction and rehabilitation operation.

Those left out to register their complaints to NEA could still do so in their respective local units.

Resurvey is aimed to be carried out by coming 16 September. RSS
