Open national folk hymn competition on February 24

The event is to be organized with a view to protecting Nepali folk hymn which is on verge of non-existence lately.

At a press conference held here on Friday, Programme Coordinator Tulasi Prabas shared that the competition is organized to preserve folk hymn and other cultural practices which are being relegated to the backburner on the shade of modernism.

As many as 50 teams from across the country are expected to register their participation in the competition. Out of the registered, 15 teams will be selected for national competition. The screening will be carried out in the district.

The Pushpanjali Hymn Group and Lions Club of Pokhara, Bhadrakali are jointly organizing the event. The first, second and third winners will receive award of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively along with certificates, said Lions Club Pokhara Chairperson Bharat Koirala.
