Lama was arrested from Geetanagar of Bharatpur Metropolis-6 in Chitwan.
A squad from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police detained the main shooter in both incidents, according to CIB chief Deputy Inspector General of Police, Pushkar Karki.
Through the preliminary investigations, police has reached to a conclusion that Lama had his involvement in the murders of both Gauchan and Tiwari.
The CIB had been following him for the past few days.
He was arrested late evening yesterday and taken to Kathmandu yesterday night itself, according to District Police Office, Chitwan chief Superintendent of Police, Deepak Thapa.
Chitwan has becoming the first choice of criminal (s) to hide out due to its geographical location that lies in the central part of the country and perpetrators’ exit from here seems easier.
The police have already arrested other suspects including the mastermind of Gauchan’s murder, Samirman Singh Basnet.
Gauchan was shot dead on October 9, 2017 at Shantinagar, Kathmandu. Two persons on a motorcycle shot him dead, and fled, the police said.
Tiwari was shot at Khairahani, the border of Rupandehi and Nawalparasi a year ago.
Tiwari, who sustained stomach injuries on the left side had died in the course of treatment at Devdaha Medical College in Rupandehi.
