Top leaders of both political parties were present in the meeting took place at the CPN (UML) parliamentary party office, Singha Durbar.  The meeting  focused on how to make the left alliance candidates victorious in the election, directing subordinate bodies of both political parties to seek possibility for an electoral alliance with other small political parties and make their best to ensure victory of left candidates in the poll.

As per the agreement made earlier,  the UML is sending 29 candidates while 14 candidates shall be from the CPN (MC) in the NA election.

As stated by UML central office secretary Krishna Gopal Shrestha, party candidate from the Province 3, Beduram Bhusal, will be called back provided that his victory seemed uncertain. Monday is the last day for withdrawing candidacies registered for the election.

The meeting was attended by heads of both political parties–KP Sharma Oli (UML chair) and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the chair of CPN (MC)–and other leaders in the taskforce.

It may be noted that the Sunday meeting between Oli and Dahal ended with the agreement on the sharing of seats of State Chief Ministers, Speakers and Deputy Speakers.

Meanwhile, the UML has scheduled its Standing Committee meeting for 10:00 am Tuesday to discuss about the taskforce recommendations and issues concerning NA election and party unity.
