Rajbiraj, May 19 (RSS): Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Distribution Centre in Rajbiraj has arrested 14 individuals in its crackdown on power hooking.
An inspection team from NEA Distribution Centre and District Police Office made the arrests from Tiruhat and Krishasabaran rural municipalities. Villagers involved in directly tapping the main line on electric pole were arrested, according to NEA Distribution Centre’s Chief, Chandra Narayan Sah.
Police also confiscated three sets of batteries, LED television set and water-drawing motor from them. The villagers were fined Rs 5,000 each for electricity theft.
