
In a press conference organized by MoE at its office, Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma shared that PPA rate has been determined at Rs 12.40 per unit.
The rate is fixed on the basis on the report submitted by the Committee coordinated by Ministry’s Joint-Secretary Chiranjivi Chataut, according to which PPA rate for the reservoir-based projects will stand at Rs 12.40 per unit from Nepali month of Mangsir 16 – Jestha 15 while the PPA rate would be Rs 7.10 per unit for Jestha 15 to Mangshir 15.
Similarly, the PPA rate for the semi-reservoir based projects is Rs 10.55 per unit from Mangsir 16 – Jestha 15 and Rs 4.80 per unit from Jestha 15 to Mangshir 15.
The PPA rate is applied for the hydropower projects up to 10,000 mega watts, said Minister Sharma.
He added that investors in the hydropower could receive 17 per cent of the profit from the projects on the basis of the PPA rate unveiled today. RSS
