Kathmandu, Feb 19: Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation Shankar Bhandari unveiled the Forest Research Policy-2073 at the inaugural session of a three-day seminar on forest conservation that began in Kathmandu today.
Launching the Policy at the programme organized by the Department of Forest, Minister Bhandari assured that all the sub ordinate bodies under the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation would be made resourceful for the effective forest management efforts.
Department’s Director General Krishna Prasad Acharya shared that the event would be useful in drawing conclusions on the issues related to afforestation, scientific forest management for managing existing forests and improved tree seedlings among others.
Meanwhile, Minister Bhandari, at a different progarmme at Bhaktapur today, shared that the government was effortful to formulate a specific action plan to curb the encroachment of forests.
He also shared that the government was going to give completion to the construction of the national zoo in Bhaktapur. RSS
