One dead, seven injured in jeep plunge in Syangja

Waling (Syangja), May 21: A man was killed and seven others injured when a jeep slid off the road and fell about 25 meters below at Waling Municipality-14 in Syangja today morning. The deceased has been identified as Sanu Khand of Waling-14.

Slippery road caused by rains is blamed for the accident.

Of the injured, five identified as Sushila Thapa, Saraswati Askey, Kul Bahadur Kunwar, the driver Krishna Khand and Jamita Singh Thakuri, all of Waling, are receiving treatment at local Waling Primary Health Center while two other—Nisha Khawas and Puja Singh Thakuri of the same municipality, who are reported to be in serious condition, have been referred to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara, police said.

The ill-fated jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5416) was headed to the district headquarters from Waling-14. RSS
