Kathmandu, Dec 8 (RSS): Tarakeshwar municipality has started a door-to-door health checkup programme targeting the people above 80 years in the municipality.

As part of the programme, elderly people above 80 years who cannot visit the health facilities would be provided the health checkup facility at home, municipality’s chief administrative officer Hiramani Subedi said.

According to him, the programme has been started in nine wards of the municipality and would be expanded to the remaining wards as well.

A medical team has been constituted for the door-to-door health checkup programme under the leadership of the chief of the local health post. Subedi added that the required medical equipment and medicines have been managed at every ward for this purpose.

The municipality has set up four urban health centres and a health post each at every municipality ward in view of increasing the people’s access to health services.
