Chief Minister Rai for quality construction

Chief Minister of State no. 1 Sherdhan Rai has said that the engineers should ensure quality in the physical infrastructure development of the State.

Addressing the 57th Engineers Day function organised by Nepal Engineers Association, State Chapter here on Friday evening, Chief Minister Rai said the State has allocated a significant amount of budget for infrastructure development, and urged the engineers to joins hands in making State no. 1 a model State of the country.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also shared that his government was hosting an investment summit based on a concrete plan to be developed by a conference of experts to be held soon.

Mayor of Biratnagar Bhim Parajuli said quality work would also help maintain good governance. Association State Chair Yashwant Bikram Shaha and other speakers stressed that the engineers were the backbone of infrastructure development.

According to information shared at the programme, altogether 52,000 engineers are registered in Nepal, with only 36,000 working in the country.
