Rajbiraj, May 2: As many as 35 people were injured, four of them seriously, when the bus they were travelling in overturned on the East-West highway at Kanchanpur Municipality-5 this afternoon.

Thirty-one of the injured are women. The injured are being treated at the Neuro Hospital and Golden Hospital in Biratnagar, police said.

The bus with registration plate number Na 4 Kha 9747 was heading towards Biratnagar from Dhangadhi of Kailali district at the time of the accident.

The driver lost control of the vehicle as he tried to save a cyclist coming from the opposite direction and the bus overturned in this process, the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur stated.

The bus was carrying the cadres of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) who were on their way to attend the party’s general convention that kicked off in Biratnagar today. RSS
