Six climbers summit Mt Everest

Kathmandu, May 12:  Six climbers including three Nepalis have scaled Mt Everest, the highest peak of the world, this morning.  Director General at the Tourism Department, Sudarshan Prasad Dhakal informed that they climbed the peak at 8:28 am today.

The foreign mountaineers are Mexican national David Gongale Liano, UK nationals Kanton Cool and Robert Richard Lucas. Cool has already scaled the peak 11 times.

Similarly, Maxican national David has climbed the peak from the Nepali and Tibetan sides. Similarly, Nepalese climbers are Pasang Rita Sherpa, Dorje Gyalzen Sherpa and Temba Bhote.

Earlier, nine Nepalese climbed the peak on Wednesday. A larger number of the climbers are on the way to scaling the peak and they are expected to complete the journey on Friday, said Ang Chhiring Sherpa, chair at the Nepal Mountaineering Association.

According to the Tourism Department, 1,432 from 97 groups of climbers have set out on their journey of scaling the various peaks including the Everest in this season.Of them, 34 teams are aiming to scale the Mt Everest. RSS
