
Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chatauri, Sunsari at Itahari today, leader Nepal said, “The Speaker facilitating the presentation of the amendment proposal by befooling the opposition parties is against the parliamentary practice.” He further said the constitution amendment proposal brought by the government included the issues which were not actually the demand of the people residing in the Province 5.
The constitution amendment bill seeks to separate the hilly districts in Province 5 and merge them in Province 4, and the opposition parties have been protesting this saying it was against the national interests.
Political parties involved in the appointment of the then Chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority ( CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki have started people’s trust with the exposure of their faults in the appointment process, the UML leader said.
The former Prime Minister went on to say the demand for easily obtaining the Nepali citizenship was not acceptable for the party. “The government is reluctant to announce the election date,” he added. RSS
