A meeting of the UDMF held in the Capital today at the central office of the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) also decided not to take part in the May 14 local level elections.

UDMF is an alliance of Madhes-centric political parties protesting to press to get its demands addressed.

The meeting also decided to continue the protest until their demands are addressed by amending the constitution as per the separate 11 and 26-point demands struck earlier with the Front and the Federal Alliance.

As part of the protest schedule, a rally would be taken out at all district headquarters on April 13 and respective election offices would be picketed on April 16.

The meeting was attended by TMLP Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Chairman of the Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Upendra Yadav, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chairman Mahendra Prasad Yadav, Nepal Sadbhawana Party Chairman Anil Jha and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Ganatantrik) Chairman Raj Kishor Yadav.
