Parties demand recount of votes in Parbati Kunda Village Council

The representatives of the Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre) and RPP walked out of the venue where the ballot papers were being counted with a demand for a recount, Election Official, Ashok Raj Regmi, shared.

The parties left the venue demanding a recount after the Naya Shakti Nepal stood in the lead with a huge number of votes from Parbati Kunda Village Council 1 and 2.

The vote count was put off at 8 pm and efforts are underway to hold a dialogue, and give continuity to the vote count, Regmi added. Of the total of 2,999 votes cast, the officials are yet to surf through 2,057 ballot papers. RSS
