Khotang, Jan 5 (RSS): The 8th Owl festival is to be held from coming February 1, also marking the International Owl festival.

The two-day festival will take place at Jalapa in ward no. 12 of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality of the district. The festival is being organized by Friends of Nature and the ward office with the objective of supporting the protection and conservation of Owls, said ward chair Bikash Rai.

The first day of the festival will include a micro museum exhibition, bird viewing, photography, and exhibition of endangered games like Lathro and Jhulo Chakmak. Information about owls and their habitat, photos and drawings, model and owls statutes made from glass and mud will also be exhibited in the festival.

After Dhading, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Gorkha, Kaski, Kapilvastu and Dolakha, the owl festival is now being held in Jalapa of Khotang this year, said Executive Director of Friends of Nature Raju Acharya.
