Local people are fearful after the snakes are commonly seen in and around human settlements, said Sub Engineer of the rural municipality, Tej Bahadur Sunar. He shared that Sharada Thapa, 25, of Beldandi rural municipality-2, Gauritole lost her life on the day of Laxmi Pooja because of snake bite.
Likewise, Setu Budha, 23, of ward number 2 of the same municipality has been admitted to a hospital after snake bite. He is being treated at Khatima of India.
The entire villagers have been horrified due to increasing rampage of snakes. The venomous snakes are commonly seen in the rural areas.
Locals said that many people are losing their lives due to snake bite for want of timely treatment. People are compelled to go to the district headquarters, Mahendranagar, or Dhangadhi due to unavailability of anti snake venom at local health facility in Beldandi.
Local people have demanded immediate arrangement of anti snake venom at the local health facility to avoid untimely demise of people due to snake bite.
