The rally that was started from Shantibatika concluded reaching at the same place after passing through various places including Ratna Park, Bhrikutimandap, Bhadrakali, Sundhara, Khichapokhari, Indra Chowk and Bhotahiti.
Various people including Bramha Kumari Rajyog Centre, Patanjali Yog Samiti Nepal, yoga practitioners, students and police personnel had participated in the rally.
Inaugurating the programme, Education Secretary Madhu Prasad Regmi, said that every person should practice yoga for lifetime to be healthy, stressing the need of creating public awareness regarding yoga.
He added that yoga is important to live a happy and healthy life.
Similarly, Join-Secretary at the Ministry, Dr Hari Lamsal, said that the government has declared Magh 1 as National Yoga Day after recognizing its importance.
