Talking to media persons in the Ministry today, he said the judges appointed as per the set standards would be even from the political background based on their efficiency and seniority.
“Individuals contesting in the polls can also be appointed as the judges if they are qualified. But, they should work independently after their appointment,” he added.
Minister Tamang also said that environment conducive would be created for the justices to issue verdict freely from their benches.
He added that Corruption Control Act, 2059 and Judicial Council Act would be amended requiring the lawmakers, local levels’ elected representatives and judges to make their property details public.
Minister Tamang further said that the files of the date of birth of the incumbent judges would be reviewed to do away with the disputes regarding the age of the judges.
Sharing his plans, Tamang said that the human resources in the judiciary would be increased to provide the detailed text of the verdict within 10 to 15 days.
