Nepal defeat Thailand by 140 runs

Kathmandu, Oct 7 (RSS): Nepal played in the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B in style with its registration of a wide-margin 140 runs victory over Thailand. 

Put into bat after losing the toss, Nepal made 172 runs for seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In the 173 target chase, Thailand was dismissed for only 18 runs in 8.5 overs. Nepal was announced winner as per Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method after the match was disrupted midway with rains. With this, Nepal has topped the group with six points. It has won all three previous matches in the Qualifier. 

For Nepal, Karan KC hit 40 runs not out, while Sharad Bheshwakar made 34. 

Likewise, Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 30 while Anil Sah 25 and Binod Bhandari 15. Sandip Lamichhane claimed five wickets in three overs with a maiden over. He conceded only eight runs. 

Likewise, Karan KC took three wickets in 1.5 overs conceding two runs. He was declared the man of the match. Lalit Narayan Rajbamshi claimed a wicket.
