Jumla, April 16: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has clarified that there was no basis for the formation of government under the leadership of Nepali Congress.

At a programme organised by Jumla chapter of the Reporters’ Club Nepal at Khalanga today, Chairman Dahal said that the government would not be toppled down only the wish of the Nepali Congress as it has majority.

He said,” A discussion will be forwarded to change the incumbent government into a national consensus government after bringing on board the NC. I will take initiatives in this regard.”

Also the former Prime Minister, Dahal said there was no alternative to NC to join the government and help in constitution implementation.

Stressing that the major political parties should stand together for the implementation of the new constitution, Chairman Dahal said that some of the demands raised in Madhes agitation were already addressed and the remaining demands could be addressed after holding discussion.

He said that special attention would be paid for the overall development of Karnali. RSS
