Melamchi, July 9: The Nepal Army has shifted the locals of Tatopani, Liping and Larcha, who were at risk of Bhotekoshi river flood and landslide, to Barhabise and Kathmandu on Friday.
The NA airlifted them to the safer places after the obstruction of Barhabise-Tatopani road section.
It was compulsion to shift them to safer places as landslides have started taking place at different place.
Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk, Yograj Khatiwada, said that the NA airlifted 58 people to Barhabise and sent 45 people to Kathmandu via land route.
The locals, who were airlifted, complained that they have been compelled to take shelter at their relatives and the government did not take any initiative to keep them in safer place.
The floods on Bhotekoshi river following heavy rainfall towards Chinese side on Tuesday evening have swept away 28 houses so far and damaged dam of Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project. RSS
