
Kathmandu, July 14: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that Nepal, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, has taught a lesson of peace to the world.
Speaking at a programme organised to observe the 83rd birth anniversary of monk Dhammawati, chairperson of Dhramakirti Vihar, Nagal in the Capital today, the PM said that Buddha has also taught the world of world fraternity and brotherhood and welfare of entire human beings.
“The Buddha guides us towards peace. So we organised international Buddha Conference on the occasion of his 2560th birth anniversary to spread his teachings and message,” he said.
Saying that adequate budget has been set aside for the development of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, he said that he has directed concerned authority to develop the area at a speedy rate.
Likewise, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Prasad Pokharel informed that works have been moved forward to complete the master plan presented by Japanese Professor Kenjo Tange for the development of Lumbini within three years. RSS
