
Kathmandu, July 20: Nepali Congress General Secretary, Dr Shashank Koirala, has returned home following an improvement in his health condition.
He came out of the hospital waving to the party cadres and his well wishers. He was helped by Dr Bhola Rijal, Dr Harish Joshi and spouse Dr Supatra Koirala onto his vehicle.
He was admitted to Om Hospital in Chabahil on July 5. He has been asked to revisit the hospital for a follow-up health treatment, Dr Rijal said.
Koirala also extended his gratitude to the doctors and health workers who attended to him. “He has recovered completely. He needs a month’s rest and we have suggested him to not undertake exhausting workloads as he will still be in medication for some days,” Rijal said.
Koirala was taken to his residence in Tokha. NC central members Dr Minendra Rijal, Bal Bahadur KC among other leaders and activists went to the hospital to receive Dr Koirala.
His blood pressure, heart rate and urine level is stable, Dr Joshi said. Nepal’s top medical team had been deputed to treat Dr Koirala.
A team of more than 15 doctors including his spouse Dr Supatra Koirala, Dr Rabindra Shrestha, Dr Arjun Karki, Dr UN Pathak, Dr Bhagwan Koirala, Dr Lava Joshi, Dr Shyam Maharjan, Dr Subas Acharya, Dr Mahesh Bhattarai, Dr Rawal Pathak, Dr PK Chhetri, Dr Hari Kishor Shrestha and Dr Harish Joshi among others attended to Dr Koirala.
