Pathari (Morang), Aug 22: The eight political parties have flayed the Biratnagar Sub Metropolis’ allegation that land tax increment was carried out with consent of the political parties.

The eight parties have made it clear that they did not consent to increment in land tax, and did not sign such a decision.

After a rising opposition of the political parties on the decision to hike the land tax, Biratnagar Sub Metropolitan City’s Executive Officer, Gopal Regmi, held a press conference on August 10 stating that the tax was increased with parties’ consent.

Regmi put the blame on the parties so as to clear himself of any charges after the parties resorted to holding protest programmes against the hike in land tax.

Nepali Congress Town President, Bhim Parajuli, has suggested Regmi to remain an employee and not act like a party leader. RSS
