Manang, Along with foreign tourists, the number of domestic tourists visiting Manang is also on the rise.

As of late, students of different colleges are coming to Manang with the help of a tour package. Campus-level students from Kathmandu, Hetauda, Chitwan, Pokhara and other towns are coming to Manang for a tour.

The students coming here usually visit villages in Manang to learn and research about the ancient traditions and customs.

“If the government could preserve the archaeological arts and artifacts here, it could help increase domestic tourists’ arrival,” said Bipal Poudel, a student of Advance College.

Bhakra, Nangol, Manang and Khangsar are important villages in upper Mustang, drawing a large number of visitors. Proper preservation of these villages alone can become a study centre for students, says another student Melina Gautam.

Many students love to visit Tilicho lake while also studying and observing the historical and archaeological sites in Manang, said teacher Yam Prasad Timalsena.
