
Kathmandu, April 4: Police have arrested four persons on the charge of swindling the public by impersonating as police.
They allegedly raided food groceries at Kalanki, Baneshwor, Samakhusi and Thamel areas, threatened the owners of filing cases under market irregularities through telephone and bargained for money with the promise to help settle ‘cases’.
Those arrested are Top Bahadur Kunwar aka Deepak, Govinda Chaulagai of Chauri-3 of Kavre, Neem Bahadur Kunwar of Bijuli -9 of Pyuthan and Sunil Chaudhary of Biratnagar-6, Morang.
Police have confiscated 14 bottles of scotch whiskey and IRs 16,500 and NRs 60,000 from them.
Meanwhile, Pushkar Raj Khadka, 47, of Gagalfedi, Kathmandu who had been on the run after being convicted in the banking fraud case has been arrested by the police. A squad from the Metropolitan Police Office arrested him from Boudha Sunday.
He deceived the Capital Merchant and Banking and Finance Company Limited of Rs 90 million. The Appellate Court, Patan on May 12, 2014 found him guilty in the case and sentenced him to three years in prison along with the recovery of the amount he deceived the bank. RSS
