Saptari, May 23: A team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Eastern Region Office, Itahari caught a government employee red-handed while he was receiving Rs 40,000 as a bribe from a teacher whom he promised a transfer.

The team arrested Birendra Kusiyait Yadav, Technical Assistant at the District Education Office, Saptari and confiscated the amount.

The team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ramesh Basnet, acting on a tip-off, held Yadav from a house at Rajbiraj-7, according to CIAA, Regional Office, Itahari.

Yadav is learnt to have promised a job transfer to a teacher from Saptari to Dhanusha district.

Arrested Yadav has been taken to the CIAA, Itahari office for further investigation and action. RSS
