House obstructed for two times citing budget information leakage

Kathmandu, May 30:  The main opposition party Nepali Congress today obstructed the Parliament meeting demanding inquiry into the leakage of budget information before it was presented in the parliament.

With the objection of the NC, the meeting scheduled for holding theoretical discussions on budget has been postponed for two times as it was postponed for half an hour at first.

Speaking at the outset of the meeting, NC leader who is also former finance minister, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said that the leakage of the budget has scoffed basic parliamentary norms and special rights of the parliamentarians.

He claimed that the share market surged due to the leakage of the budget information.Budget information leaking on the paper before reading out in the parliament was totally wrong, he argued.

Similarly, speaking in the second round of the meeting, NC leader Ramesh Lekhak also objected over the leakage of the budget information and repeated that the house will be obstructed until the inquiry into this was carried out.

He also said that the House had formed probe committee comprising representatives from all the parties in the House to investigate into such cases in the past. NC has announced obstruction of the house until the inquiry into this connection was initiated.Meanwhile, the meeting is scheduled for 1:30 pm today itself. RSS
