Kathmandu, June 28: The CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Australian ambassador to Nepal, Glenn White held a meeting at the former’s residence at Lazimpat today.
During the meeting, Dahal and White discussed the latest political developments and constitution implementation in Nepal.
On the occasion, Dahal had opined that it was necessary to form a national unity government to fulfill the remaining works of the peace process, to address the demands of the Madhesi, Tharu and indigenous communities and to expedite the post-earthquake reconstruction works.
The Australian ambassador inquired about the topic of Dahal cancelling his visit to Australia and informed Dahal that the situation was not as projected by the media. Ambassador White said she was regularly in touch with the Australian government, the police administration and the Attorney General and found that there was no any such problem.
Chairman Dahal explained that he could not go to Australia due to the political situation of the country and as he was occupied with party works, adding the visit would be arranged at an appropriate time.
Dahal also stated during the meeting that he was effortful to propel the country’s political development process ahead in a smooth manner, according to Dahal’s Secretariat.
He also thanked the Australian government for the cooperation it has been extending in the post-earthquake reconstruction. RSS
