Mahottari, Nov 3: Member of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokhrel today said that the CPN-UML should not stay back from the constitution amendment process.
“An agreement had been struck between major political parties to amend the constitution if need be before it was promulgated. So the UML cannot refrain from the amendment process,” he said.
Pokharel was speaking at a programme to lay foundation stone for the construction of a library building in memory of a democratic fighter Arbinda Thakur on the premises of Jaleshwor-based Laxmi Chandika Murarka Higher Secondary School.
The constitution amendment proposal would be filed in Parliament in some days, which is expected to resolve the disputed issues of demarcation of provincial boundaries, citizenship and national languages, he said. The building will be constructed at around Rs 6 million. RSS
