General Secretary of the Hotel Association Nepal, Binayak Shah, said that Shrestha was suffering from cancer for long. He died at his own residence. Shrestha is the owner of Radisson Hotel and has served in the tourism sector for more than 40 years. He was also former President of HAN from 2014-2016.

Also the founder of Himalayan Travel and Tours, Shrestha has played significant role in tourism development through the promotion of especially the star hotels.

Shrestha is survived by wife and three daughters. The body has been kept at Radisson Hotel for paying of last tribute. Last rites of Shrestha would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat this afternoon. RSS
