Police identified the deceased as Khelimaya Bal, 35, Putalimaya Bal, 20, Mhendomaya Jimba, 22, Manisha Moktan, 27 and Kumari Jimba, 19 of Mahabharat Rural Municipality-2. According to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk’s police inspector Rabiraj Thapaliya, the sixth victim is male and police are trying to establish his identity.

A little baby girl Kristina Moktan (20 months-old) has gone missing in the incident.

Injured Avishek Tamang was rescued by the police and was flown to Kathmandu via a helicopter for treatment. Rescue efforts for others are underway. A total of 17 people were travelling in the reserved jeep. -RSS
