Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali visited the Mahabijaya Chaitya here today. Minister Gyawali is currently here as part of the Nepali delegation led by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on a State-visit to Myanmar

The Foreign Minister was accompanied by other senior members of the delegation. The team led by Minister Gyawali also observed a statute of Buddha at the shrine. The pagoda-style shrine is located in the Dhammarakhita hills.

Upon arrival, the Nepali team was welcomed by the Head of the local government. It may be noted that during a visit there in 1980, then King Birendra had gifted a statute of Buddha to the Chaitya.
