Chautara, July 13 (RSS): Five people were killed on the spot and eight others sustained serious injuries when a jeep met with an accident at 8.15 pm on Thursday. The Bolero jeep with the number plate Lu 1 Kha 999 was going towards Manekharka from Kiteni at the time of the accident. 

Police identified the deceased as 65-year-old Bhim Bahadur Tamang, 60-year-old Jayarani Tamang, 56-year-old Podom Tamang, 53-year-old Nani Tamang and 25-year-old Sunamaya Tamang. 

Those seriously injured in the accident have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment. The jeep fell some 400 metres from the road.
