The missing persons have been identified as Ramsur Buda, Sanjeev Buda, Romi Sarangkoti, Surya Baniya, Narendra Buda, Sundar Oli, Shyam Kumar Pun, Dendi Sherpa and Laxman Chhantyal.

The cricketers, coaches and other cricket officials have already returned back home to Nepal after the friendly match.

The national players and Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had pressed for a thorough investigation with references towards the act hurting Nepal’s dignity in international community, degrading the morale of the players and disseminating negative message towards the public regarding nation’s sports fraternity.

In response, NSC on Tuesday formed a three-member probe committee headed by its member Shailesh Karmacharya, NSC Press Advisor, Rohit Dahal said. Two other members include Dom Bahadur Basnet, Chief of NSC Association and OrganizationCoordination Section, and Legal Section Chief, Narayan Aryal.

The Committee will start working by training its focus on the ‘seven points’ to find the facts and submit the report within the next 15 days.

The probe committee is asked to find out those involved in the scheme; those involved in funding the escape; whether the event taking place is an official contest under ICC; whether cricket officials and employees are engaged and why NSC’s prior permission had not been sought.

As per the instruction of International Cricket Council (ICC), the Nepali national cricket team’s head coach, Jagat Tamata, will also seek clarification with the players, Press Advisor Dahal added. RSS
