The EC has also suggested to the media to not impart any news or information that is likely to jeopardize good will and harmony persisting between the castes, communities, religions, gender and languages.

Likewise, the EC has also urged the media to emphatically give space to the violation of electoral code of conduct by the political parties and candidates.

The EC has also instructed the media to not publish or air free and sponsored advertisement as election campaign and cover news and views in a way to give equal opportunity for all political parties and candidates.

“The airing of advertisement should not exceed 45 seconds; baseless contents should not be posted on social networking sites and activities against professional conducts and values should not be carried out according to the election code of conduct”, shared Joint Attorney of EC, Geeta Prasad Timilsina.
