Kavrepalanchok, March 20 (RSS): The police and cadres of the banned Netra Bikram Chand-led Community Party of Nepal at Khaharepangu of Roshi rural municipality-2 in the district on Tuesday evening. No human casualties were reported in the incident however.
The police had to open the fires in retaliation when the CPN's cadres started shooting at them while they were on a search operation, said Superintendent of Police Rabiraj Khadka.
During the search, the police arrested two cadres of the CPN, whose identity are yet to be known. A team from the Metropolitan Crime Division, Teku led by Superintendent of Police Somendra Singh Thakuri reached the village on a search operation. Commenting on the firing, Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Raut said the situation in the incident site has returned to normal since Tuesday night. He however confirmed that two CPN cadres were arrested during the search.
